The Scariest Monsters in The Witcher

It’s been a few years since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released. However, The Witcher never gets old. Even if it is not a horror game, the scary monsters in it continue to give us goosebumps. Some of these monsters exist in ancient myths and mythologies. In this article, we list the scariest monsters in The Witcher.

Which is the Scariest Monster in The Witcher?

What’s the point of being a Witcher if he’s not fighting monsters? That’s what witchers do.

    Rotfiends

    Rotfiends The Witcher Monster

Rotfiends look like human bodies with their skin peeling off and rotting. The rotten smell of these monsters can be felt from afar. The fact that they’re fast enough to chase a horse makes them even scarier. When they die, they explode and spread toxins around.

    Ethereal

    Ethereal The Witcher Monster

In The Witcher universe, little is known about these monsters. What scares people the most is their appearance. As they walk around with a sack over their heads, blood drips from their bodies. They look like someone who died while being tortured.

    Crones

These are three witches living in a hut in the swamps of Velen. They are also known as the Ladies of the Wood. No one knows what their real names are. Although they present themselves as a young woman, in reality, their bodies are very scary and ugly.

    Grave Hag

    Grave Hag

Grave Hags go out to hunt at night. They follow stray travelers or people who don’t notice the sunset. Sometimes they hunt during the day. However, they have a weakness for sunlight. After attacking people, they bury them under the ground. They eat them after they rot.

    Gaunter O’dimm

    Gaunter O’dimm

Gaunter O’dimm looks like an ordinary person. In reality, he is a god in human form, capable of bringing about the end of the world. He makes deals with people, gives them what they want, and in return, they pay with their souls. When Gaunter doesn’t get the soul, he reveals his scary face.

    The Caretaker

    The Caretaker

The most striking feature of the Caretaker is the absence of a face. A piece of skin was sewn into the place where a face would be. He was summoned from another dimension by Olgierd von Everec to kill the intruders. The caretaker also summons different spirits while fighting.

    Hym

    Hym

Among the monsters in the Witcher world, Hym is the most evil monster. It lives in the form of parasites, dwelling in people who do evil deeds. Rather than physically attacking its victims, it creates psychological terror and infuriates them.

    Leshen

    Leshen

These monsters attack anything they can’t affect with magic. They are very attached to the forest in which they live. So, they kill anyone who does not respect the forests. Leshens have the ability to teleport by turning into a smoke cloud. Their heads are similar to deer heads. Their bodies are in the form of a tree trunk with branches.

    The Unseen Elder

    The Unseen Elder

In vampire society, the older you are, the stronger and more senior you are. The Unseen Elders are very old vampires with superior powers. They have also become leading figures of their kind. The real names of other vampires are known, but theirs are unknown. They guard the gates between the vampire world and the human world. They have no respect for any life other than vampires. All they think about is going back to their own world.

    Botchling

    Botchling The scariest Monster

Botchling is the creepiest of all the terrifying monsters in The Witcher universe. A hideous creature that even witchers don’t want to see. When unwanted babies die, if a proper burial is not done, these babies turn into Botchling. These hideous creatures, resembling a rotten fetus, grow up drinking the blood of pregnant women. Therefore, they cause the death of these women.
